Prologis Global Sustainability Program
Prologis, the global leader in logistics real estate with over 1.2 billion square feet across 19 countries, has consistently demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and innovation within the industry. Recognizing the need for an environmentally conscious approach to real estate development, Prologis sought a partner that shared its vision for a greener future, enter BranchPattern. Sharing Prologis’ vision for a greener future in real estate, BranchPattern’s partnership as Prologis’ dedicated green building provider began in 2006.
With BranchPattern, Prologis pioneered the world's first LEED Volume Program for the industrial sector, setting a new standard for sustainable building practices within the logistics industry. BranchPattern has successfully certified more LEED warehouses and distribution centers than any other organization worldwide, showcasing a dedication to excellent customer service and fostering long-term relationships. Prologis also earned recognition of having the first WELL Certified logistics center in the world, assisted by BranchPattern’s team.
Going for Carbon Neutrality
BranchPattern has been instrumental in developing Prologis' Carbon Accounting Program to support their goal of Carbon Neutral Construction by 2025. Currently engaged to measure the embodied and operational carbon impact of all Prologis projects constructed in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Brazil and Italy, BranchPattern is supporting this ongoing commitment made by Prologis to support the measurement of Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions to meet their company climate commitments. All projects covered by this initiative are included in Prologis' LEED Volume program, where BranchPattern is responsible for delivering green building certification services.
BranchPattern issues quarterly reports to understand the impact of each region's construction methods and associated carbon performance. This data helps Development Managers learn from other regions, in terms of feasible solutions to implement in their own region, and also informs overall reduction efforts across the company's portfolio.
Research & Analytics
Prologis’ involvement in MIT Climate and Sustainability Consortium, supported by BranchPattern’s research and analytics, has further cemented their position as an industry leader. Through this collaboration Prologis provides insights from cutting-edge research, which informs their sustainability strategy and keeps them ahead of evolving industry standards.
BranchPattern’s ongoing research has also been key in supporting Prologis’ goal of becoming net zero across its entire value chain by 2040. From carbon accounting to carbon reduction analysis, BranchPattern provides the data-driven insights needed to shape Prologis’ long-term sustainability roadmap, helping ensure each project advances their environmental goals.
Prologis's partnership with BranchPattern has helped them to not only obtain certification from third-party green building standards but also address broader sustainability goals to stay ahead of what’s next and lead the industry. With the support of BranchPattern's team, Prologis continues to push the boundaries of sustainable logistics real estate and sets an example for other industry leaders to follow.
