VF Corporation, a global leader in active-lifestyle brands including Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Dickies, Jansport, and SmartWool, is deeply committed to the betterment of people and the planet. This commitment permeates every aspect of their operations, extending through their value chain and real estate holdings. We are privileged to partner with VF Corporation to harmonize their green building guidelines across North America, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.
Managing a diverse portfolio of over 2,200 assets across the retail, corporate, and industrial sectors presents a unique challenge. A successful framework must not only establish clear sustainability goals but also accommodate the complexity of VF’s extensive global portfolio. To meet this challenge, we initiated a series of discovery workshops, interviews, and analyses. The outcome was the development of eight strategic tactics designed to support VF’s corporate commitments and sustainability goals.
As we move into the implementation phase, BranchPattern is working closely with VF to prioritize investments that reduce emissions and resource consumption while enhancing the health and wellness of building occupants. To scale this impact and streamline decision-making for VF’s real estate teams, we created a comprehensive checklist aligned with popular building certifications. To measure the effectiveness of these initiatives, BranchPattern leverages advanced analytics software to collect and report on building performance. This data-driven approach enables VF to validate their building emissions, recognize top-performing assets, and identify those requiring further analysis.
VF’s customers are passionate about the outdoors and lead active lifestyles, which aligns seamlessly with the company’s commitments to nature and wellness within their real estate portfolio. This partnership has provided us with a unique opportunity to engage with one of our core beliefs at BranchPattern: that true sustainability lies at the intersection of environmental stewardship and human experience.
