UNMC and Nebraska Medicine Make Progress towards Net Zero Goals

Congratulations to UNMC and Nebraska Medicine for their continued commitment to community and environment. Their efforts are helping to make the world a better place.
As a school, business and healthcare provider, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine have been regional leaders and a staple in the Omaha community. Their commitment goes beyond the health of their patients, and includes environmental health as outlined in UNMC’s Sustainability Master Plan (SMP), which provides guidelines for reduced consumption of energy, emissions, water and materials. The SMP also sets parameters for recycling, transportation, food service and more.
Over the past year, UNMC and Nebraska Medicine engaged BranchPattern to help evaluate their SMP, and make sure they were ready for the next phase of their sustainability commitment – achieving a Net Zero workplace. As sustainability advocates to our neighbors and fellow community partners, we were excited to give the guidance UNMC and Nebraska Medicine will need to acheive their Net Zero goals, and provide healthier, more sustainable environments for their patients, families, students, faculty, healthcare and staff.
